We are pleased to offer all three Level 1 Handbell Musician Certification classes this spring in Dallas. You can complete one or all three classes — the topics offered are Conducting, Handbell Techniques and Music Theory.
We will also be offering Accreditation for faculty to teach Level 1 Certification courses in Conducting, Handbell Techniques, and Music Theory. Each Accreditation class is limited to 4 faculty candidates. Accreditation application details are available HERE.
What is Certification?
The Handbell Musician Certification program is a comprehensive curriculum designed to provide training and experience at all levels to handbell musicians. The study areas are Music Theory, Handbell Techniques, Conducting, Arranging and Composing, Handbell History (available on-line) and electives. CLICK HERE to see more information about the program.
NOTE: Conducting 1 requires students to complete certain items PRIOR to taking the course. Please visit the course page for details of these prerequisites.
Certification Class Fees:
- Any 1 Level 1 Certification Class: $170
- Any 2 Level 1 Certification Classes: $240
- All 3 Level 1 Certification Classes: $310
Accreditation Class Fee:
- Accreditation: $225

Lodging for the Event
Lodging is provided at the Courtyard Dallas Central Expressway, 10325 North Central Expressway, Dallas, TX at the sharply reduced rate of $112 per night (plus taxes) for a double occupancy room. Hotel registration information is available here.
Transportation
You are responsible for your own transportation. The hotel does not offer a shuttle service. Super Shuttle serves both airports for a fee. Dallas Love Field is the closest airport. The hotel does offer free on-site parking.
Meals
All meals are on your own.
Cancellation Policy
There will be a $50 cancellation penalty for any cancellations received by April 30, 2018. After that, no refunds will be given for any reason. A cancellation will be considered confirmed when written notice is received by the event registrar, Vickie Iverson at [email protected].
